Culture Creators Innovators and Leaders Awards Brunch
Culture Creators returned for its sixth year of celebrations with its annual Innovators and Leaders Awards Brunch, in partnership with Netflix. The ceremony took place during BET Awards week at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles on June 23, 2022.
Music mogul L.A. Reid was the recipient of the icon award.
Previous icon award recipients include Russell Simmons, Sylvia Rhone, and Swizz Beatz, amongst others. Past recipients of the innovator of the year award include Jesse Collins, Tiffany Haddish, Kevin Liles, Marsai Martin, and Derrick “D-Nice” Jones.

The celebratory occasion, centering on the achievements of Black leaders in the arts and media spaces, had a fantastic turnout and garnered millions of press and social impressions. Prominent guests included MRC Live & Alternative EVP of Creative Stephen Hill, EVP, Urban Music & Marketing for Warner Records Chris Atlas, Schure Media founder and Beyonce's publicist Yvette Noel-Schure, Def Jam CEO Tunji Balogun, and EVP Latrice Burnette, among others.
