Nelson Makamo ‘BLUE’ Solo U.S. Exhibition
Acclaimed South African artist Nelson Makamo launched his first solo U.S. exhibition, ‘BLUE,’ with an intimate dinner and showcase in Los Angeles. Throughout the evening, attendees indulged in a three-course dinner of Pan-African soul food prepared by chef Solomon Johnson with the atmosphere’s music set by Poison Ivy.
Nelson Makamo has worked for over 16 years as an artist.
Guests included actress & comedian Tiffany Haddish, musician BJ the Chicago Kid, contemporary artist Ferrari Sheppard, artist Knowledge Bennet, international pop star Maya Sho’Madjoz.

DeLeón Tequila joined globally recognized and collected artist Nelson Makamo on October 6 to open the doors to his first solo US exhibition titled ”Blue” in Los Angeles, CA. The exhibition brought 44 of Makamo’s works stateside, making this impressive new body of work the largest collection he has ever showcased. A private coursed dinner of curated VIP guests received a first look at the collection along with a performance, and DeLeón Tequila art-inspired cocktails that embodied the creative inspiration behind BLUE through the show’s color palette and Makamo’s favorite flavors.
